Doctor Mihaela Bucur routinely assesses and treats patients aged 18+ suffering from mental health conditions, including Adult ADHD, at her private clinic at 2 Harley Street, London.

Dr Mihaela Bucur is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist and Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician specialising in General Adult Psychiatry. Her areas of interest include ADHD, OCD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, adjustment disorders, stress, and lifestyle psychiatry.

As a clinician and Chair of the Mental Health Special Interest Group (SIG) at the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine, Dr Bucur has a strong commitment to advancing mental health care through a holistic and comprehensive approach to recovery. With her dual experience in psychiatry and lifestyle medicine, she brings together psychiatry and lifestyle medicine to provide personalised compassionate care.

Following a person-centred approach and using evidence-based treatments, Dr Bucur cherishes the individuality of each patient, compassionately supporting them on their recovery journey. She is particularly interested in lifestyle psychiatry, an emerging area that aims to improve mental health outcomes and overall well-being by addressing lifestyle factors – such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and social connections – contributing to mental health issues.

Dr Bucur is a Fellow of the prestigious Royal College of Psychiatrists, where she held a senior role as the Associate Registrar for Wellbeing and Retention (2019-2022). In 2020, she became a Certified Physician in Lifestyle Medicine with the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine.

During her postgraduate training in psychiatry, Dr Bucur completed a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychiatry and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. She has also published numerous scientific articles in reputable journals, and others have cited this work in the field.

Dr Bucur is a keen nature photographer; in 2021, the British Medical Journal published an interview with Dr Bucur in which she discusses how photographing nature has transformed her life.

Dr Bucur is a General Adult Psychiatrist, and she routinely assesses and treats patients aged 18+ presenting with a broad spectrum of psychiatric symptoms and disorders.

Dr Bucur does not undertake specialised assessments or make treatment recommendations for the following conditions: autistic disorders, substance misuse and eating disorders.

Patients must be referred by their general practitioner (GP) or another Specialist. GPs must provide the relevant background information, indicate the degree of urgency and risk, agree that a psychiatric opinion is warranted and be prepared to follow up on recommendations that Dr Bucur makes. Referral enquiries can be made via telephone or email.

Dr Bucur currently works part-time in the private clinic setting, and therefore patients who require intensive support or present with an elevated level of risk are advised to consider other clinical services more appropriate for their urgent needs and care.

Dr Bucur is a recognised consultant psychiatrist with AVIVA, Vitality and Healix.

Insured patients will need to acquire an authorisation code from their Insurance Company and bring this together with their membership details (Policy number/Membership number) to the consultation.
